HAMPTON COURT PALACE 10K

Please be aware it is an 8-10 minute walk from the front of the Palace to the event village. Please take this into account when planning your arrival time.

Wave 3 – 9:10am

Race Packs

If you entered before Friday 6th May, you will receive a race pack in the post. If you entered after this date, a pack will be waiting for you to collect on the day. If you are expecting a pack in the post and do not receive before the event, please make your way to the registration desks on Sunday morning and we will issue you a replacement pack.If you are collecting your race pack, please make your way to the registration desks between 7:30 – 8:30 am. It will take around 15 minutes to collect number and drop your bag off. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day.

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!

Race Start 

Please note you will be set off in waves based on the estimated finish time. After the warm up, each wave will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation.

The first runners will cross the line at 9:00am and you can expect each wave to follow shortly afterwards in 5 minute intervals.

Wave 1 – Sub 50
Wave 2 – Sub 60
Wave 3 – 60+

Toilets

For this event we will use portable toilets. Lining up for these toilets will be socially distanced.

During the race

There will be marshals all around the course as well as markers for each km. The Palace 10k is a flat and picturesque course which starts and finishes inside Hampton Court Palace.

If you need to overtake on the course please be sure to take a wide berth around the runner in front. 

Refreshments

There will be a water station on the course and water/refreshments at the finish along with your medal. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

Baggage

We will have an informal baggage drop for this event. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.

Spectators

If spectators wish to come and support during the race and see you start and finish within the palace grounds, they will need to arrive before 10am. Please also be aware that if you would like to visit and take a tour of the inside of Hampton Court Palace, you will need to purchase a ticket on the official website HERE
Please be aware that dogs are NOT allowed at this venue.

By Train

35 minutes from London Waterloo – calling at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Berrylands, Surbiton and Thames Ditton before arriving at Hampton Court. Trains run every half an hour.

You could also get a train to Kingston and then a bus (111, 216 or 411) from there to Hampton Court Gardens. Or a train to Richmond and the R68 bus to Hampton Court.

The service is run by South West Trains. Information on planned engineering works is on their website Southwest Trains.

Plan your journey using the TFL journey planner or Google Maps.

Hampton Court is in Zone 6 and you can use Oyster Pay as You Go on trains to Hampton Court.

By Bus

Bus routes from Kingston: 111*, 216*, 411*, 461, 513.

From Richmond: R68*

By Taxi

Visitors arriving by taxi may drop off at the gates. There is a mini-cab firm at Hampton Court station for those wishing to go home by taxi or are heading to Heathrow or Gatwick Airports.

From London Airports

From Heathrow Airport – take the 111 bus.

From Gatwick Airport – take a train from the airport station to Clapham Junction and change to the Hampton Court train.

From City Airport – take the Docklands Light Railway to Canning Town and then the Jubilee Line to Waterloo. Catch the Hampton Court train from there.

By Car

The palace postcode is KT8 9AU

Hampton Court Palace is located on the A308 and is well signposted from all the major local roads; drivers should follow the brown tourist attraction road signs.

From the M25 take either exit 10 on to the A307 or exit 12 on to the A308.The palace is also accessible via the A3 and then the A309.

THERE IS NO PARKING INSIDE THE PALACE GROUNDS ON RACE DAY

After the race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal, Kind Snack bar and Love Corn which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

Results will be available on www.palace10k.com after the race.

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be available here after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

We recommend downloading the NHS COVID-19 App onto your phone if you haven’t already before the race. Find out more HERE.

Free lateral flow tests are now being offered by the Government for everybody in the community to help stop the spread of COVID-19. These can even be ordered to your home, further information can be found HERE.
